Conflict of Interest (COI)

The 82nd Annual Meeting of Japanese Society of Public Health requires all lead presenters and co-presenters with relevant COI to disclose their financial relationships with "companies, corporate organizations, and profit-oriented groups" related to public health research. The disclosure should be made at the time of abstract registration and presentation. Please refer to the following for details.

(1) Pre-declaration Procedure

1. Regarding the presence or absence of a COI status with "companies, corporate organizations, and profit-oriented groups" related to public health research, please download and complete the "Self-declaration Form for COI during Abstract Registration" from the link below.
2. The following individuals are required to submit the COI declaration form:
   • Lead presenters (COI declaration is required regardless of whether COI should be disclosed or not).
   • Co-presenters with COI that should be disclosed (co-authors without COI to disclose are not required to submit the COI declaration form).
   • Symposium chairs
3. The lead presenter should compile the COI declaration forms of all relevant co-presenters into a single PDF file.
4. After abstract registration (final screen displaying the registration number and password), click the "Upload Paper" button to access the COI upload screen, and then upload the COI declaration form by clicking the "Start Upload" button.
   • ※ Please note that the mechanism for "Upload Paper" is used for this purpose.
   • ※ If you make changes to the abstract and re-upload it, the previously submitted COI declaration form will be deleted. Therefore, please compile the COI declaration forms of all relevant individuals into a single PDF file and upload them again.

5. Once this COI file is uploaded, the general abstract registration will be completed.

   Deadline for Invited Symposium Submission	July 31, 2023 (Monday) at 12:00 PM
   Deadline for Other Advanced Abstracts	To be notified separately

   • ※ For symposium chairs who will not write the "Chair's Message," please submit the COI via email to the Secretariat (jsph82@convention-plus.com).

(2) On-site Declaration Procedure

Regardless of the presence or absence of a conflict of interest, please disclose the situation.

• ※ For oral sessions... at the beginning of the presentation slides
• ※ For poster sessions... on the poster panel

Include the COI disclosure slide at the beginning of the presentation slides. (See examples below)

Example of Poster Disclosure

Place the disclosure statement on the poster, in an appropriate location (e.g., after the conclusion or before/after the acknowledgments section), stating either "There are no companies or entities related to the presentation with which the presenters have a COI" or "The presenters have a COI with the following companies, etc., related to the presentation: [company names]."
